It’s going to be a hot and humid week with highs temperatures in the middle 90s and a heat index peaking up to 108° in the afternoons. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a heat advisory issued at times. Compared to last week when most thunderstorms developed too far inland, there will be a higher chance for showers and thunderstorms this week that are closer to the coast. Some could contain gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Hurricane Erin will remain east of the Bahamas before moving out to sea with no direct impacts to South Florida’s weather.
