Today is a tricky forecast. Widespread cloud cover is giving us a gloomy start and preventing energy from building up to fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

A stormy weather pattern has shifted over South Florida. We started the day with scattered thunderstorms and more are expected to develop this afternoon.

It’s another quiet weather day with only an isolated shower or two moving onshore. Most will stay dry.
May 21: Mostly dry afternoon before few storms return for the holiday weekend
Today will be very similar to yesterday with just an isolated shower or two off the Atlantic.
May 20: Drier weather expected this afternoon
We are in a pattern over the next couple days where morning showers move west in the afternoon and we are left with only an isolated shower or two.
May 19: More rainy season downpours on the way
Just like yesterday, we will have spotty showers and thunderstorms moving across South Florida from the Bahamas.
May 18: Scattered rainy season thunderstorms to start the week
We are firmly in the rainy season and you can tell by looking at the forecast this week.
May 15: Rainy season begins Friday with near record heat
Even though Friday is the first day of the South Florida rainy season, we’re not looking at many thunderstorms. There could be a stray pop-up this evening in Broward County, but most us will be dry.
May 14: Few more thunderstorms this afternoon fueled temperatures in the 90s
Drier air up at cloud level today will make it harder for thunderstorms to develop so coverage will be down to 30%.

After much-needed rain moved through South Florida on Tuesday, we have fewer thunderstorms on the way Wednesday.
