This is the 36th day this year that we’ve had a heat advisory in effect with a heat index as high as 100°. Similar to yesterday, we will have spotty showers and thunderstorms developing late this afternoon. Most of them will be between 4 p.m.- 9 p.m., especially for inland areas. More of the same is on the way tomorrow.
High temperatures will level off around 92° or 93° into next week, which is still hotter than average but better than the record-shattering heat of earlier this week. A few storms are possible each day, but no organized storm systems are in the forecast to bring us the widespread rains we really need.
