If you thought it couldn’t get any hotter, the hottest temperatures of the year are expected early this week. Highs today will reach 97° without any chance of rain to cool us down. Tomorrow could reach 98°, with a few inland locations potentially hotter. Miami has only reached 100° once in recorded history in 1942. A heat advisory is in effect and we will likely have them at least the next few days.
Without a chance of rain through tomorrow, we will have an elevated wildfire risk in the afternoons. The next chance of afternoon storms will not begin until Wednesday, when our normal rainy season pattern begins and continues for the second half of the week.
