Wednesday has been another record breaking day for heat across South Florida with the first Extreme Heat Warning of the year issued for Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Humidity is higher than Tuesday, which is increasing the heat exhaustion risk.
Afternoon thunderstorms also made a comeback this afternoon with drier weather expected after 9 p.m. and overnight. We are fully back into our rainy season pattern with daily chances of afternoon thunderstorms into the weekend. High temperatures will no longer be setting records, but highs around 93 degrees and a heat index over 105 degrees at times is still hotter than average.
