Sept. 10: Another round of thunderstorms coming this afternoon

The pattern is on repeat with another round of thunderstorms this afternoon. Since the ground is saturated from the last couple days, any additional heavy rain could cause flooding. We are in a level 2 out of 4 for the flood risk today. The first pop ups are expected between noon-2 p.m. with the highest chance of rain from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Some storms could also produce frequent lightning and gusty winds.

A similar forecast is on the way Thursday and Friday. By the weekend, it is possible the stalled out front causing the wet weather gets nudged south. This would bring in slightly drier air. It may not eliminate our rain chance, but give us fewer storms compared to what we’ve been dealing with. Perhaps even slightly lower humidity.
