Sept. 25: Afternoon storms possible in metro coastal areas

Happy Friday Eve! Grab your rain gear, we could see afternoon storms pushing towards the metro coastal areas today. With the past previous weeks of rainfall, any more storms today will spark the possibility of flooding concerns. Highs will reach the low 90s with plenty of dry times. A Tropical Wave (Invest Area 94L) near the Dominican Republic is likely to become a tropical depression in the vicinity of the Bahamas late in the week. The forecast uncertainty remains high with this system in particular. It is too soon to determine what impacts (if any) will occur here locally. Aircraft reconnaissance as well as extra upper air soundings at NWS offices across the southeastern United States will provide additional data for computer models and NHC experts to create a more certain forecast.
