Happy last Friday in September. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, mainly with sea breezes. Some storms may become strong. Localized urban flooding will remain a concern over the next several days. Looking ahead a frontal boundary will reach the Florida Panhandle area today, then drop into Central Florida and stall during the weekend. A tropical wave near Hispaniola is likely to become a tropical depression by later today or this weekend in the vicinity of the Bahamas. The indirect impacts look to be elevated winds and seas possible in the offshore Atlantic waters late this weekend into early next week, along with increased rip current risk for the Atlantic beaches.
