Sept. 29: South Florida gets a dose of nice weather Monday night into Tuesday

Showers will be “hit or miss” over South Florida Monday evening as drier air moves over the region. Expect mainly clear skies overnight with northwest to west winds, 5 to 10 mph (gusts to 15). Plan for low temperatures in the mid 70s.

Tuesday morning will offer ample sunshine. The afternoon brings scattered clouds and WNW winds, 10 to 15 mph, gusts 20 to 25 mph. While a stray shower or two is not completely out of the question, there will be plenty of dry time. Temperatures are forecast to reach the low 90s.

Thankfully, Tropical Storm Imelda and Hurricane Humberto-- churning over the Atlantic-- will not be a direct threat to the east coast of the United States. However, the rip current risk stays high through midweek and marine conditions remain hazardous.
