Scattered rain drenches parts of South Florida Thursday evening. Northeast winds will drive off-and-on showers and storms from the Atlantic waters onto the shores of Broward and Miami-Dade counties through the night.
More of the same can be expected Friday. The day will feature scattered storms along with east-northeast winds (10 to 15 mph, gusts to 20 mph). The unsettled weather is courtesy of a remnant front, along which an area of low pressure could form. The National Hurricane Center will monitor. Fortunately, the likelihood of development is low.
Marine conditions remain hazardous. Expect choppy seas and a high risk of rip currents through much of the weekend.
