MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies accused three teenage boys of stealing tens of thousands of dollars of fishing gear from their Stock Island neighbors and using Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp to profit from their thefts.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 17-year-old boy on Wednesday accusing him of working with two boys ages 14 and 15 to steal and sell fishing rods, reels, spearguns, and other marine gear.
The boys are facing charges of burglary, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property. Detective Ken Fricke asked anyone with information about this case or others to call 305-292-7000.
