Fisherman was set to go to trial this week over the charge related to the alleged 2016 crime in Miami Beach that also involved brothers Oren and Alon Alexander.

6 p.m. report:

In a statement, State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle reported that a video on Facebook showed Fisherman was on a boat “very close in time” to when the alleged crime happened.

Prosecutors also announced that their investigation revealed that metadata was consistent with Fisherman’s alibi, and they couldn’t move forward.

According to court documents, a notice of alibi was filed last week, and the document says the video caption thanked Alon Alexander for filming the video.

The decision came just one day before jury selection was set to begin in his case.

Court records show the case closed on Monday. Prosecutors are moving forward with the related cases against the Alexander brothers.
