We’re talking millions in prize money on the line, attracting the top horses and jockeys to the races.

So if you’re looking for glam, horsepower and a whole lotta flavor, the Pegasus World Cup is the place to be this weekend.

“It’s so much fun. To me, it’s like the sexiest race on the calendar for horse racing,” horse racing analyst Claudia Spadaro said.

From celebrities in the stands to couture at the track, this is not your average day at the races.

Davie’s own Tyler Gaffalione has been racing professionally for more than a decade and this will be his ninth Pegasus.

“I started here at Gulfstream Park, and it’s been a great run,” he said. “The second you walk in the gate, the big event, you hear the excitement in the crowd. Everybody is roaring and then the silence when it all breaks. Then it’s just you and the horse. It’s a special moment.”

And this is South Florida, so you know it’s not just about what happens on the track, it’s everything around it.

“It’s not only the horses, which are amazing. You have concerts, after-party, the track looks like a fashion show,” Spadaro said.

And Spadaro said the event is fun as well for those who have never been to a horse race before.

“If you’re not an expert on horse racing, this is the best race to come experience because you’re going to have so much fun,” she said.

And once the last race wraps up, the energy doesn’t slow down.

“After the races, we begin at the Carousel Club with Two Friends -- they’re playing -- and also Empire of the Sun at the VIP experience at Flamingo Room,” Spadaro said. “You can enjoy the races, and then let’s go and have an amazing night at LIV.”

You can root for the homegrown talent this Saturday at the Carousal Club.
