Bakery ordered shut for the 5th time after live rodent seen! Plus, a Papa John’s and Don Pan!

Rodents, roaches and insects on food led to multiple restaurant shutdowns last week by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Cayard’s Bakery in North Miami was ordered shut for the fifth time after inspectors reported seeing a live rodent, more than 10 rodent droppings, and live and dead roaches in the kitchen.

At Papa John’s on Biscayne Boulevard and Don Pan in Pembroke Pines, inspectors found flying insects landing on food, triggering stop sales.

Matsuri Japanese Restaurant in Miami and Pinko Taco in Miami Beach were also shut after inspectors found live roaches, insect activity and mold-like buildup. Several other restaurants were ordered closed for unsafe food temperatures, sanitation issues and repeated violations.

As of this post, Cayard’s remains closed.

All the other places mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered cleanup and re-inspection.
