Iron Sushi in Miami tops this week’s Dirty Dining list — ordered shut for the third time this year after inspectors found 27 violations, including live and dead roaches throughout the kitchen, household bug spray near food, strong odors, and an employee skipping handwashing with no soap at the sink.
Records show since March 2023, the restaurant has needed 10 follow-up inspections to clean up its act.
And Iron Sushi wasn’t alone.
Other restaurants ordered shut last week include La Santa Taqueria Biscayne in Miami, where inspectors found about 50 rodent droppings in food storage areas; Grace of God Restaurant in Margate, closed for roaches and a sewage backup flooding the kitchen floor; Don Rodone in Hollywood, where roaches were discovered inside ovens and under the cook line; and Chow Time Grill & Buffet in Pembroke Pines, which was cited for roaches, flying insects, and heavy grease and mold buildup throughout the kitchen.
Scroll down for the full list of restaurant shutdowns and some of the violations inspectors found.
All the places mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered cleanup and re-inspection.
