MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — YouTuber Jack Doherty faced drug charges on Saturday in Miami-Dade County after police officers arrested him in Miami Beach, records show.
Police officers arrested Doherty, 22, shortly after 3:10 a.m. at the 700 block of Washington Avenue, in South Beach’s Entertainment District, records show.
According to MBPD, Doherty, of Plantation, was in the middle of the road with his phone when he ignored police officers’ commands to get out of the way and said, “Once I’m done with this bet."
Police officers searched Dougherty and reported finding a “half of an orange, oval-shaped pill marked 3, consistent with a Schedule II amphetamine, and a black plastic container containing three hand-rolled suspected cannabis cigarettes.”
Miami-Dade correctional deputies booked Doherty shortly after 8:45 a.m. on Saturday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, records show.
Doherty faced a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, and two misdemeanor charges: Possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana and resisting arrest without violence.
County court records show prosecutors filed a case on Saturday afternoon. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Carlos Gamez is set to preside over the case.
