MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A 19-year-old man faced charges on Tuesday after holding relatives, including a child, at gunpoint in Miami Gardens, according to police.

Kase Rogers-White was at his grandparents’ house on Monday along Northwest 43rd Court, between 172 Drive and 171 Street, records show.

When his sister arrived to move in with their grandparents, witnesses reported Rogers-White “exited the residence in an aggressive manner,” according to a Miami Gardens police officer’s report.

Rogers-White pointed a gun toward his brother-in-law’s 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, as his sister and her “infant child” were inside, according to the MGPD officer’s arrest report.

Rogers-White shouted threats at his brother-in-law, who is having marital problems with his sister, and used a gun to damage the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s windshield, according to the police report.

“While striking the vehicle, live ammunition was dislodged from the firearm’s magazine and fell on the top of the vehicle,” a police officer wrote, according to an arrest report.

Police officers detained, questioned, and arrested Rogers-White, who faced five charges: Three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, child abuse with no great bodily harm, and criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, records show.
