FLL gets busy ahead of NYE 2026 celebration

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Travelers were dealing with high traffic on Tuesday at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations in South Florida.

After the flights’ arrivals, travelers at FLL experienced long wait times at the pickup lane for ride-share services on Monday.

There was trouble ahead for some travelers, as a winter storm caused cancellations and delays in the Midwest, the Great Lakes, and the Northeast.

FlightAware’s misery map ranked Chicago O’Hare, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, and Dallas Fort Worth as the international airports with the most delays and cancellations on Tuesday afternoon. The Miami International Airport ranked 11th, and FLL ranked 14th.
