Man faces 18 Miami-Dade charges over domestic violence, child sex abuse images, records show

Daniel Little Police officers arrested Daniel Little on Tuesday in Miami.

MIAMI — A man alleging to be a domestic violence victim arrived at the Miami Police Department’s headquarters on Tuesday with hundreds of images of child sex abuse -- some involving babies and toddlers, records show.

The man reported that it all belonged to his attacker, Daniel Little, his husband of eight months, and he had found two drives while cleaning their Little Havana apartment, according to police.

“[Little] noticed he was being watched and immediately slammed the laptop shut,” the man said, so he grew suspicious, according to police.

The man said Little, 36, had threatened to kill him when he confronted him and had already “choked” him twice until he lost consciousness, according to the arrest report in the domestic violence case.

The man said he waited for Little to fall asleep, grabbed a small black T7 shield portable hard drive that Little had on his nightstand, his laptop, and recorded himself searching it, according to police.

The man delivered Little’s hard drive and laptop and the video of himself to the police, and after a judge issued a search warrant, forensics found the videos and photos showing men abusing the children, according to police.

“Through the course of their relationship, he noticed [Little] would receive transactions in small amounts that he believes were payments ... for the sale of child sexual abuse material,” a police officer wrote in the report of Little’s arrest.

Detectives reported there were hundreds of images showing child abuse, and focused on 15 to arrest Little, according to the arrest report in the pornography case.

Little “displayed signs of being under the influence of an unknown substance ... we were unable to conduct an interview,” a detective wrote, according to the arrest reports.

Little, who was born in California, was at the police headquarters at 400 NW 2 Ave. in Downtown Miami when police officers arrested him on Tuesday, according to the police arrest report.

Miami-Dade County correctional deputies booked Little at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.

Little appeared in Miami-Dade bond court on Wednesday, and he faced 18 charges in two pending cases, according to court records.

Little faced 15 counts of second-degree felony sexual performance by a child or the possession, creation, or distribution of child pornography. His bond was $37,500.

In the domestic violence case, Little faced three charges: Third-degree felony domestic battery by strangulation, first-degree misdemeanor battery, and second-degree misdemeanor assault.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Cristina Miranda is presiding over the cases.
