Toddler mauled by Rottweiler in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to a call about a child bitten by a dog.

It happened at a home near the 1700 block of Southwest 24th Street.

Fire rescue officials said they were met by two people who brought them a 2-year-old girl who had been mauled by a Rottweiler.

Authorities said the child suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the trauma center at Broward Health Medical Center.

Her condition was not immediately known, officials said.
