Police: Shots fired into home in City of Miami

MIAMI – Miami police are investigating after someone shot up a home Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. in the 3100 block of Southwest 16th Terrace in the city’s Little Havana neighborhood.

A man who lives nearby told Local 10 News that he only heard one gun shot.

“At 3 a.m. in the morning, I heard a really loud noise. I was confused,” Yuri Martinez said. “So I woke up, I looked to the window and I didn’t see anything so I went back to sleep, and when I got up I saw police.”

When officers arrived at the scene they discovered that a home had been shot at. A Local 10 News crew also spotted a gunshot in a car that was parked outside the house. The window of another vehicle was also shattered.

The owner of the house said his home didn’t sustain any damage.

“It surprised me because I’ve never seen anything like this happen here,” Martinez said.

City of Miami Police Officer Kiara Delva confirmed that no one was injured in the shooting.

A motive for the shooting is unclear.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
