Workers fell about 15 feet, first responders say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – An investigation is underway Thursday after three workers fell from scaffolding at a construction site in Fort Lauderdale.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. at an apartment building under construction at 475 SW 27th Ave.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, three workers fell about 15 feet from a scaffolding.

Officials said it’s unclear at this time whether there was a scaffolding failure or what caused the workers to fall.

An Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigator responded. FLFR has since reported the incident to OSHA, which will perform any required investigations.
