POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A 48-year-old woman who had been reported missing from Pompano Beach died at a hospital last week, authorities announced Friday.
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Miranda Grossman, a missing persons alert was issued for Kendra Howells on April 4 after BSO was notified that she hadn’t been seen since March 28 near the 3500 block of Oaks Way.

“Since issuing the alert, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives learned Howells died on Friday, March 29, at an area hospital,” Grossman said in a news release.
Grossman said foul play is not suspected, however the agency’s Homicide Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No other details surrounding Howells’ disappearance and death have been released.
