The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said it happened on Sunday when the couple attempted to board a flight that was traveling from Miami to Cancun, Mexico.

However, the couple was late and were denied boarding, according to authorities.

Moments later, deputies said, the couple pushed ticket agents and threw coffee at them, leading to the police being called.

Rafael Seirafe-Novaes, 40, and Beatriz Rapoport-Decampos-Maia, 29, were arrested. Each faces two counts of battery and several other charges, jail records show.

They were taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County without further incident, deputies said.
