Video shows irate charter boat captain getting onto fisherman’s boat in Punta Gorda

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – A Florida man was under investigation after a video showed him stepping onto another man’s boat after he appeared to have confused him with someone else.

According to the Punta Gorda Police Department, the trespassing incident was on Tuesday under the Barron Collier Bridge in Peace River.

Brock Horner, the owner of Tarpon Coast Fishing Charters in Punta Gorda, was accused of stepping onto Gage Towles’s boat while yelling at him.

Towles, 22, told the area’s ABC News affiliate that the 40-year-old irate charter boat captain was accusing him of boating without lights during an incident.

Horner’s attorney released a statement to the ABC News affiliate saying the captain was apologetic for the “intense” exchange and appreciated that Towles remained calm.

“Brock is a decorated combat veteran who was severely injured in Afghanistan. He served honorably, earned multiple medals, and suffered a traumatic brain injury in combat,” the attorney wrote.

The U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were also investigating the incident.
