MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives were searching for a shooting suspect after a 38-year-old man died on Tuesday morning in northeastern Miami-Dade County’s Biscayne Gardens neighborhood.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies identified the shooting victim as Romainson Joseph.
According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for M-DSO, Joseph was shot shortly before 6 a.m., in the neighborhood, west of North Miami Beach.
Deputies used crime scene tape to block the Northeast Sixth Avenue entrance to the Mansion Townhouse Condominiums, south of Northeast 154 Street.
Detectives talked to witnesses in the parking lot. Women standing near a bus stop outside of the complex were in tears along Sixth Avenue.
Miami-Dade fire rescue personnel pronounced Joseph dead in the complex, between a row of townhomes and a black fence west of the dead end at Northeast 151 Street.
Hours after the shooting, the victim’s blood remained on the ground over rocks and cement, near a pile of garbage. Sondrea Broomfield, who lives in the area, was nervous.
“I hope they do find out who did it,” Broomfield said.
Detective Joseph R. Peguero Rivera, also a spokesman for M-DSO, said detectives are asking anyone with video related to the case to “step forward.”
Deputies asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
