Residents alarmed by Broward funeral home parking lot burnouts

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Residents are frustrated after teenagers were seen performing burnouts in the parking lot of a funeral home near the border of Oakland Park and Fort Lauderdale.

Residents said the issue is an ongoing problem. In one case, they called the Broward Sheriff’s Office after the teens clipped a truck as they sped out of the neighborhood, near U.S. 1 and Floranada Road.

“They came out fast, hoping that they could catch them in time, because it’s been an ongoing thing, not just with that car,” truck owner Dominick Sarta said. “We hear it from my apartment sometimes, like two, three o’clock in the morning.”

It’s especially concerning with numerous children and families in the area.

It’s unclear if the young people are connected to other incidents nearby.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call BSO.
