Inspectors from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) returned to the store on May 7 for a re-inspection and found the rodent issue “far from fixed.”
The inspection report noted multiple new violations, particularly in the back room and receiving area, where a new Stop-Use Order was issued.
Violations cited on May 7 included:
*Rodent droppings on bucket lids stored on a shelf near the back door.
*Rodent droppings on the floor next to the mop sink.
*Stained ceiling tiles in the retail area.
*Cracked, broken, or missing floor tiles throughout the store.
The original Stop-Use/Stop-Sale Order on retail shelves for pet food remains in effect from an April 21 inspection, which also found:
*Rodent droppings on a shelf in the retail area, near animal food.
When Local 10’s Jeff Weinsier visited the location for a Dirty Dining report last month, he observed rodent issues throughout the entire store.
According to FDACS, a re-inspection visit is required due to ongoing pest problems.
The store must thoroughly clean and sanitize all affected areas and develop a pest management control program before requesting a written release from the department.
Failure to comply may result in administrative action.
