According to investigators, the incident began with an altercation at the Epic Vibe complex where gunfire was exchanged — with investigators estimating more than 20 rounds were fired around 2 p.m.

Shortly after, at least one of the suspects fled the scene and headed toward the ALDI plaza, where police say a random person was carjacked.

That carjacking victim was not hurt, authorities confirmed. Miramar police said officers later arrested one suspect in connection with the incident. He or she has not been identified by police.

Authorities confirmed that two people were shot — one drove themselves to the hospital while the other was transported by first responders. Police said one of those victims was shot in the arm, while the condition of the second remains unknown.

It’s still unclear whether the victims were involved in the initial altercation or were bystanders. Authorities believe the gunfire may have continued near the ALDI, but those details remain under investigation.

Authorities said a perimeter was established in the area and a command post was set up at 12280 Miramar Blvd.

Investigators said that two suspects who were allegedly involved in the shooting remain at large.

The shooting left many who live in the area concerned.

“I heard a lot of shots — multiple shots — and it just got crazy,” said Jannea Wolf, a Miramar resident.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call the Miramar Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
