Victim seriously injured after being shot inside car in Miramar, cops say

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Police in Miramar are investigating a shooting that they say left a person seriously injured early Saturday morning.

It happened in a residential neighborhood near 7700 Fairway Blvd.

Miramar police said preliminary information indicates that the victim was shot while sitting inside a vehicle that was stopped on Fairway Boulevard near Nassau Drive.

The individual, whose identity has not been released, sustained serious injuries and was transported by rescue crews to Memorial Regional Hospital, according to investigators. Authorities said two other passengers in the vehicle were not harmed.

Shortly after the shooting, officers said they located a suspected vehicle on the west side of Miramar.

They said a felony stop was conducted with assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office aviation unit and the Pembroke Pines Police K-9 team.

Authorities have not released information on any suspects or potential motives, and no arrests have been announced at this time.
