MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A man reported he was selling a Sony PlayStation 5 when he agreed to meet with who he thought was a buyer in Miami Gardens, according to police. A nightmare followed.
The man said the meeting was with robbers who threatened to kill him with a handgun and an automatic rifle and stole his game console in the parking lot of the Lake House Apartments, according to a police report.

Surveillance video, a witness, and the victim helped detectives identify a 20-year-old man who wore a black jacket with a skull during the crime along Northwest 22 Avenue, near 207 Street, according to police.
Detectives found Kenneth Phillips, who lives in Miami’s Little River area, on Monday outside of his grandparents’ house along Northwest 22 Avenue, near 206 Street, according to a police arrest report.
Detectives reported Phillips got into a car with two women and two children, so they conducted a traffic stop, detained him, and took him to the Miami Gardens Police Department’s headquarters.
“The defendant was wearing the jacket that the victim and witness saw him wearing during the commission of the crime,” a police officer wrote in his report.
Records show a detective arrested Phillips on Monday afternoon and corrections booked him on Monday night. A bond court judge granted the prosecution’s request for pre-trial detention and ordered him to stay away from the victim.
Phillips, who has an arrest record in Miami-Dade and had a traffic bench warrant, faced a charge of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and remained behind bars on Wednesday.
