MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — A 57-year-old Stock Island man was arrested this past weekend after authorities said he threatened to stab his brother and burn down his home.
Jail records obtained by Local 10 News Tuesday show David Jean is facing one count of aggravated assault.
According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Adam Linhardt, deputies were called to a residence on Maloney Drive around 6:30 p.m. Sunday after the victim reported that Jean, his brother, threatened to kill him while making stabbing motions with a butcher knife.
The victim also said Jean threatened to set the residence on fire without provocation, according to Linhardt.
Authorities said Jean fled the scene on a bicycle before deputies arrived.
They said a warrant was issued for his arrest and he was booked into jail on Monday. No injuries were reported.
A motive for the threat remains unclear at this time.
Local 10 News has requested Jean’s arrest report. His bond information was not immediately available.
