Man uses hammer to hit woman in the head at Miami-Dade bus stop: Deputies

Bryan Rose Corrections held Bryan Rose without bond on Monday after deputies accused him of using a hammer to attack a woman in Miami-Dade County.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 39-year-old man armed with a hammer struck a 47-year-old woman in the head at a public bus stop on Friday in Miami-Dade County, according to deputies.

Deputies found the woman injured at 9650 NW 27 Ave., in West Little River, and fire rescue personnel took her to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Miami-Dade deputies identified the woman as Chinwe Onyiuke, who had to undergo surgery after suffering head injuries, records show.

Detectives identified the attacker as Bryant Rose and arrested him on Saturday for second-degree attempted murder after he surrendered, records show.

Onyiuke, a Florida career offender who had been released from prison in 2015, remained hospitalized, according to deputies. A judge denied Rose bond.
