Christopher Stormont, 50, of southwest Miami-Dade, is facing a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12. He runs The Stormont Kings chess program out of a Kendall-area office building.

According to an MDSO arrest report, the boy was attending one of Stormont’s classes at the building at 8353 SW 124th St. on Tuesday.

“Upon exiting the class, the victim immediately disclosed to his mother that (Stormont) touched his penis over the clothing,” the MDSO report states.

Deputies said they responded to the scene and took Stormont into custody.

They said he made a “self-serving statement” during an interview at MDSO’s Special Victims Bureau in Doral.

In bond court Wednesday, Stormont’s attorney, Stephen Millan said his client has taught chess for more than three decades and has no prior convictions.

“He’s lived in Miami-Dade County his entire life,” Millan said. “He suffers from a variety of conditions, amongst them: Minimal brain dysfunction, poor coordination, mild cerebral palsy.”

Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer ordered Stormont held without bond pending a hearing Thursday.

He’s been ordered to have no contact with the boy.
