FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — For the second time this week, firefighters from Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue’s Station 47 have saved a dog in distress.

On Thursday morning, crews responded to a call in the Melrose Park neighborhood, where a small dog was found struggling to breathe in a murky backyard pool.

Firefighters pulled the dog from the water and administered oxygen before transporting it to the Veterinary Emergency Group hospital, authorities said. The dog is now recovering.

Earlier in the week, the same station made headlines after rescuing a German shepherd from a canal and reuniting her with her owners.
