BAY HARBOR ISLANDS, Fla. — Miami-Dade homicide detectives are investigating after a body came ashore in Bay Harbor Islands on Thursday.
Authorities said the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department received a “call reporting the discovery of a body washed ashore.”
Town police then turned over the case to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities haven’t said whether they suspect foul play.
“Once we have identified the body and located the next of kin, we will provide any updates,” Detective Joseph Peguero Rivera, an MDSO spokesperson, said in an email to Local 10 News.
