Man hospitalized after being mauled by 3 dogs in West Park residential neighborhood

Victim recovering after dog attack caught on camera in West Park

WEST PARK, Fla. — Exclusive surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows the moment three dogs attacked a man Monday afternoon.

It happened near the intersection of Southwest 38th Street and 58th Avenue in West Park.

In the video, the victim is seen trying to climb a tree to escape the aggressive dogs before they jumped at him and caused him to fall to the ground.

The man was screaming as he tried to get away while the dogs pulled him to the ground a few more times.

Neighborhood resident Alberto Dominguez said he always felt safe in his neighborhood, never imagining someone walking down the street would get mauled by dogs.

“I could hear the screams from my camera,” he said. “By the time he got over here, he was on the ground fighting them.”

A voice then called out for the dogs to stop, and they finally left the man alone.

Dominguez said he ran over and saw the man shaking, with blood all over.

“I saw one big gash, a big red gash,” he said.

Another neighbor called 911, and Dominguez said he watched an ambulance take the injured man away.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue said the man suffered a minor dog bite.

Broward Animal Services has since taken custody of the dogs.

Witnesses say they belong to a homeowner in this neighborhood, and in investigation is ongoing into what happened.

“It could be a kid,” said Dominguez. “My cat’s here, it could be a cat. My wife is pregnant, it could be her.”
