FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale police and fire rescue responded Friday night to a shooting on the 1600 block of Northwest Sixth Place that they said left a boy injured.
Authorities arrived at the scene just after 10:30 p.m. and found the boy with gunshot wounds.
They said the boy was transported to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, but the victim has told detectives the shooting was accidental.
Authorities have not disclosed the age or identity of the boy at this time.
No other details about the shooting were immediately released.
