The father of a 17-year-old stabbed to death at Icon Brickell has been arrested.
Jonathan Ferrell is accused of violating an injunction in a domestic dispute involving his wife.
According to his lawyer, Ferrell contacted his family immediately after his son’s death and reached out to his children, and strongly denies any accusations of domestic violence.
His son, 17-year-old Dominic Ferrell, was stabbed to death as he slept in his room of an Airbnb in the Icon building in early June.
The suspect was later found dead by police.
In a statement released by his lawyer, Ferrell said, in part: “I lost my son, my best friend, and I relive it every night. I’m living a nightmare that keeps getting worse. These charges are absurd and unjust. All I want is to grieve and be a father to my children without being dragged through baseless accusations.”
