MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A fraudulent father and a defrauding daughter are accused of taking more than half a million dollars from a Miami Beach homeowner after promising to do work that was never done.
Newly released video shows the moments Miami Beach police arrived at Elite Home furniture store, but they were not there to buy a chandelier.
Police say Krystyna Maistrenko and her father, William Richmond a.k.a. Vladimir Maistrenko, represented themselves as owners of Elite Home Miami.
According to authorities, the pair swindled the victim out of more than $600,000 when he wanted high end Italian millwork in his Miami Beach home.
According to an arrest report, the investigation established that the wire transfers made by the victim were not used for business purposes, as represented by the suspects, but instead were diverted from Elite Home Miami LLC’s account to satisfy their personal financial obligations.
This included mortgage defaults, foreclosure-related expenses, legal fees, and personal debts.
Miami Beach police believe there may be additional victims of the suspects and urge anyone who believes they have been victimized by the Maistrenkos to call them and report it.
