MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded on Saturday to a canal where a dead man’s body was floating near the Miami International Airport.
M-DCSO deputies responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. to the canal running along the Airport Expressway, near McLaughlin Drive and North Service Road.
“Deputies began canvassing and located the body of a white adult male in the canal,” Detective Samantha Choon, a M-DCSO spokeswoman, wrote in a statement.
Homicide detectives also responded to the area west of the MIA Rental Car Center and took over the death investigation.
The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office had custody of the man’s body on Saturday afternoon to investigate the cause of death.
