Video shows woman chasing man before arrest in Miami

MIAMI — A witness’s video shows a woman chasing a man into a Walgreens in Miami before police officers arrested her.

Roger Villamizar said he was the man who was running away from the woman. He said he had never met her when she vandalized his white 2024 Toyota Corolla at the Walgreens at 3103 Biscayne Blvd in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood.

Villamizar said he asked the woman to stop damaging his Toyota Corolla, and after he said he was going to call the police for help, she turned to attack him with an umbrella.

“Hit me on the back under my knee,” Villamizar said.

Miami police officers later identified the woman as Ruby Kimberly Mack. Villamizar said the attack shortly after 8 p.m. on Sept. 17 was random. According to the police officer’s arrest report, his car had about $2,000 in damages.

Police officers arrested Mack, 28, on Sept. 18. She faced charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. Her bond was $3,500, and a judge ordered her to stay away from Villamizar and the Walgreens.

Court records show her arraignment is at 9 a.m. on Nov. 17 and Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Ellen Sue Venzer is set to preside over the case.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
