Authorities said Dimeer Jones, 22, of northwest Miami-Dade, was arrested by police on several felony charges, including human trafficking a person under 18, lewd and lascivious battery on a child between 12 and 16 years old and cannabis possession with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school.

According to an arrest form, the victim in the case went to the Miami Police Department’s South Station and told officers she had met Jones through a friend and had been communicating with him on Instagram for about a year.

Initially, the victim would purchase marijuana products from Jones, but when she didn’t have enough money, police said Jones would accept sexual acts instead.

Investigators then conducted a controlled text conversation while using the defendant’s username in which Jones allegedly confirmed the two had previously had sex, according to the arrest report.

After arranging a meeting near Southwest 41st Avenue and Fifth Street, officers said they took Jones into custody without incident.

Police said Jones was found with marijuana products, including flower, edibles and vape pens, in his possession, weighing a total of 134.2 grams.

Jones was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County, where his bond is currently listed as “to be set.”
