MIAMI — FBI special agents were investigating the death of a Carnival Cruise Lines passenger aboard a ship that returned on Saturday to PortMiami.
A spokesperson for Carnival Cruise Lines released a statement describing the deceased as “a guest” traveling on the Carnival Horizon and the case as “an ongoing matter under the jurisdiction of law enforcement.”
A spokesperson for the FBI also released a statement.
“I can confirm that the FBI has responded to the scene,” the spokesperson wrote. “Because this is an ongoing matter, no further information is available at this time.”
According to Carnival Cruise Lines’ profile of the cruise ship, it has a capacity for 3,960 guests and usually sails to the Caribbean from Miami and Galveston, Texas.
