Fire rescue: Child pronounced dead after drowning in Pembroke Pines

Near drowning Fire rescue personnel responded to a child's drowning on Sunday at a gated community in Pembroke Pines.

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — A child was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital West after drowning on Sunday in Pembroke Pines.

Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue personnel responded to the drowning near Southwest Seventh Street and 118 Avenue and found a child, who is 12 to 24 months old, unresponsive, according to Division Chief Jason Stepp.

Fire rescue personnel took the child to Memorial Hospital West on Sunday. Capt. Adam Feiner reported the child’s death on Monday.
