Dimitri Reynolds, of Riviera Beach, faced charges on Wednesday in Palm Beach County for the death of Vivienne Otero, a mother of five.

“Me and my girlfriend got into it, we were fighting, and the gun went off, and I accidentally shot her,” Reynolds told dispatch.

Police officers found Otero at Clematis Street and Sapodilla Avenue, and arrested Reynolds for second-degree murder.

Otero’s brother Jaime Otero told WPBF that he had custody of her children, who are aged 7 to 16 and described her as a great mother.

“She would literally catch a grenade for her kids. She just was really adamant about making sure her kids were raised the proper way,” Jaime Otero said.
