MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 28-year-old man faced five charges on Thursday after prosecutors filed three new cases against him for allegedly hurting two roommates and two deputies in Miami-Dade County, according to court records.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Brandon Ramos shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Thursday at a home in the Brownsville neighborhood, records show.
Ramos was first accused of throwing a beer can at a roommate’s face during an argument over a lighter on Wednesday along Northwest 53 Street, near 21 Avenue.
Ramos faced a battery charge after deputies met the victim with a bruised face at a nearby convenience store at Northwest 54 Street and 21 Avenue, records show.
When deputies responded to the house, a second roommate accused Ramos of hitting him after the two got into an argument over the house rules.
Ramos faced charges of resisting arrest and battery.
During his arrest, Ramos also “intentionally kicked” two deputies while he was in handcuffs at the house where the alleged batteries happened, records show.
Ramos also faced two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Miami-Dade corrections booked Ramos at 2:15 a.m. on Thursday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Betsy Alvarez-Zane was set to preside over the initial misdemeanor battery case, and Circuit Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez was set to preside over the other two cases.
