Natali Melani and Kevin Arrieta said they want to meet the couple of tourists who photo bombed their romantic moment in Santorini.
“We would love to invite them to our wedding,” Melani said.
Their loved ones saw Arrieta was on one knee and Melani was covering her face in shock, but then the tourists stood in the way of the rest.
Melani, a yoga instructor, said, “Yes!” But the video didn’t capture much of that. Instead, it showed the couple’s ability to adapt to unexpected circumstances.
“The joke was on us,” Melani said.
Melani shared the video on Instagram, and it quickly went viral. It showed one of the tourists who was blocking the view eating a candy bar, so that may even impact how their wedding cake turns out.
“You can’t direct that; you can’t script that,” Arrieta said about the video.
The video of their original proposal showed Melani posing with a long red flowy dress during a sunset, and Arrieta on one knee behind her.
They hired a photographer, but when they didn’t receive the images, they decided to go back. The photo bomb happened when they attempted to recreate the memory. Melani said that video was supposed to be for them, but they decided to share it.
Melani chose to share it to contribute to the “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday” sound trend. Melani feels like the universe played a joke on them.
The message: “Remember forever: It’s not that serious!”
