MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins suffered a big blow to their running backs room on Monday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting that Alexander Mattison is out for the season after suffering a season-ending beck injury against the Bears.

Mattison landed on his head during a run in the fourth quarter.

He was down for several minutes surrounded by trainers and head coach Mike McDaniel.

At the time, Mattison was able to walk off the field on his own power.

However, he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and had surgery.

The Dolphins are reportedly going to work out veteran running back Jamaal Williams.

He had a breakout year for the Lions in 2022.

Williams struggled the past two seasons in New Orleans.

The Fins decided to sign RB Aaron Shamklin according to the NFL Network. He played for Pittsburgh last season.
