Heat sign undrafted rookie Gabe Madsen

MIAMI — The Miami Heat signed guard Gabe Madsen to a deal Friday morning. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The undrafted rookie was originally signed by the Heat on Sept. 11 and waived on Sept. 25.

Madsen played four seasons at the University of Utah, finishing his college career as the school’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals made. In his final season, he started all 33 games and averaged a team-high 15.2 points, along with 2.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game.

Miami also waived guard Trevor Keels on Friday after he appeared in two preseason games. He averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 22.6 minutes per game.
